She also teaches graduate-level students at Antioch University and supervises post-graduate students as they are pursuing licensure. Taylor works collaboratively with others in the community, such as maternal-fetal medicine providers, OBGYNs and midwives, doulas, lactation consultants, and psychiatrists. She encourages her clients to “come as you are” to therapy sessions to dig deep and find healing. Taylor is passionate about helping people heal from high-risk pregnancies, traumatic births, feeding trauma, colic trauma, and NICU stays. She is also skilled at helping people process pregnancy and infant loss. One of the most fulfilling therapy topics for Taylor is assisting parents in processing their childhood trauma so that they can show up differently for their children.

undergraduate: arizona state university, psychology major, Human and family development minor

graduate school: central methodist university- mental health counseling (in final Semester)

theoretical orientation: person-centered

Cassie is a graduate student intern completing her internship experience under the supervision of Taylor for the 2024-2025 academic year. Cassie came to this field as a second career after having a difficult start to parenthood with two NICU babies and all of the challenges and ripple effects that high-risk pregnancies, traumatic births, and NICU stays can have on a person. Additionally, Cassie is passionate about trauma-informed birth planning and proactively working toward a redemptive birth experience. She enjoys working with partners as well.

Another client type that Cassie is skilled with is parents who want to give their children better than they had. This means going back to your own childhood, processing experiences with your own parents, and deciding how you want to show up as a parent.

Cassie is under the supervision of Taylor Ulrey, MS, LMFT, SLMFT, LCMFT, LCMFT-S, MHP, PMH-C, meaning she provides the therapy services to her clients and meets with Taylor weekly to discuss treatment, learn new interventions, and hone her therapy skills.
